Roam Atlanta: Member Appreciation

On Wednesday evening, October 20, 2010, Roam Atlanta was the place to be. They were hosting their 2nd Annual Member Appreciation Gala at metro Atlanta’s most popular “gathering place” for a new progressive workforce.

Located a half mile east on the right, (second floor) off Georgia 400 at the Windward Parkway exit, not only has Roam Atlanta become the new place to do business but also a great place to generate new leads to help your organization grow.

When we arrived at 6:00pm sharp, the place was already packed with Roam Atlanta members and guests greeting one another. Music filled the air from the live band. People were helping themselves to the beautiful display of hors d’oeuvres and others were already networking.

Ms. Bonnie Ross-Parker, our special guest, and one of our newest clients in the People You Need to Know Network of first-class business professionals, was there with her husband, Phil. Bonnie is the CEO/Founder of The Joy of Connecting, an organization that nurtures and helps WOMEN grow their business.

Gale Middleton, Director of Membership at Roam Atlanta, was at the front table giving a warm welcome to the people as they arrived, along with Susan Rae, Marketing Maven for Roam Atlanta.

It was a pleasure to meet Pamela McGovern (, Independent Travel Consultant and one of our Facebook friends with Archer Travel Group. She is loving the work she’s doing with Archer Travel, specializing in helping people travel to Italy, France, Eastern Europe, Cruises, Ski Vacations, Wine and Culinary Tours.

One young lady we met at the gala, who is also an investor in Roam Atlanta, was Ms. Janet Winkler, Executive Director for the Center for Continuing Education with Clayton State University. Thanks, Janet for all the work you do with non-traditional students.

Once again, we enjoyed meeting Carmelita Marcia Cutler, CEO/Head Designer of Accessories a Go-Go. Carmelita was kind enough to tell us about a great opportunity at the 2nd Annual Community Fall Festival benefiting Lawrenceville Co-Op on October 30, 2010 from 10:00am-3:00pm at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse Grounds in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This family-friendly event will feature Music, Special Events, Salsa and Swing Dance, Face Painting, Inflatables, Great Food, Frozen Treats, Door Prizes and much, much more.

The man with the million-dollar voice, Mr. Neil Scott-Barbour, Principal of Scott-Barbour & Associates was there to be the Master of Ceremonies for the prize drawings and announcements.

Paula Brock, Independent Distributor with Sendout Cards was also one of our special guests for the evening. Look for Paula in the upcoming edition of People You Need to Know Magazine.

It was great seeing Deepa K. Lahoti, Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney at the gala. We saw her at an event in downtown Atlanta a few weeks ago. Deepa takes advantage of and understands the power of face-to-face networking. She told us that Roam Atlanta has been a fantastic place for her to network and generate new business.

Another new client of People You Need to Know Magazine, Ms. Renzie Richardson, CEO of Be Healthy for Life, LLC and a Roam Atlanta member, was making the most of her membership by meeting as many new people as she could at the gala.

Near the end of the event, door prizes were given away and it seemed as though everyone walked away from Roam Atlanta with a gift.

At People You Need to Know Magazine, we congratulate Roam Atlanta for putting together a spectacular and successful Member Appreciation Gala that will be remembered by all who attended, for a very long time.
