PYNTK Magazine’s Ask the Doctors Health Forum Brings the Experts to the People

Atlanta’s Fernbank Auditorium was the site for the People You Need to Know Magazine Ask the Doctors Health Forum for Women on May 7, 2011. This forum was the kick-off of National Women’s Health Week (May 8-14, 2011). The event started around 10:30am after a mesmerizing and inspiring performance by Fresh Rain recording artist, Antonia Lawrence. Antonia’s rendition of the Lee Ann Womack mega-hit “I Hope You Dance” was a real crowd-pleaser.

The health forum’s morning panel starred “Atlanta’s Dermatologist to the Stars,” Dr. Gloria Campbell-D’Hue, President of The Atlanta Center of Dermatology; Dr. Lorie Johnson, President of Just For You Women’s Healthcare; Dr. Lynette Wilson-Phillips, President of Decatur Pediatric Group; and Dr. Monica Campbell, Co-Owner of The Campbell Dental Group.

The afternoon panel featured Dr. Larona Gore, President of New Life Chiropractic & Wellness Center; Dr. Gloria Clarke, President of Greenbriar Dental Care; Dr Taunya Lowe, President of The Resurgent Group of Metro Atlanta, LLC, and Dr. Pam Howard, Director at the Midtown Atlanta Wellness Center.

The audience members in the Fernbank Auditorium who came out early on a Saturday morning to get their health questions answered were not disappointed. The doctors answered questions about childbirth over forty, signs of depression, kids’ health, veneers, how flossing your teeth can keep you healthy, removing moles on your skin, dark circles around the eyes, why go see a dermatologist, the benefits of chiropractic care, how often a woman should see an OB/GYN, the importance of mental health, the connection between the spine and the central nervous system, the difference between Western and Eastern medical practices, what is holistic health and much more.

At People You Need to Know Magazine, we were honored to have as our assistant for the day — actress, model and new Atlanta resident, the lovely Ms. Krista Woods. Krista, (pictured above) thank you for welcoming everyone with your warm and engaging smile. We look forward to seeing you on the small screen and the big screen very soon. And a very special “thank you” goes out to Valerie Randolph with Allstate. Valerie’s insurance agency gave everyone who checked-in a complementary Allstate gift bag. Following the morning and afternoon sessions, the attendees were able to meet many of the doctors one-on-one at their display tables to get more information. This was a great opportunity for each participant to network with the doctor(s) of their choice.

Many of the People You Need to Know Network of first-class business professionals came out to lend their support to this informative event. And we would like to thank the following people:

Manana, with Manana’s Healing House, who is featured in our Briefcases & Stilettos Newspaper, added her thought-provoking questions to the day’s discussion. Another businesswoman featured in our newspaper and who was also at the event was Dr. Linda Kelley, President of Cobb Wellness Center, located in Roswell, Georgia. Dr. Kelley made the trip to the Fernbank Auditorium and definitely added her celebrity presence to the gathering. LaKeacha Jett, Owner of Social Butterflies Learning Center for Girls in Fayetteville, Georgia, graced us with her royal presence.

We also appreciate some of the People You Need to Know Magazine clients for coming out to the ‘Ask the Doctors’ Health Forum for Women. The ever pleasant MaShelle Epps, President of the Jiggle Free Zone, added much value to the event by directing her health-related questions to our esteemed panel of doctors. Tarra Jackson, Executive Vice-President of Credit Union of Atlanta, entertained the crowd with her health questions that always seemed to have a humorous tone. The very friendly and always smiling Paula Brock, Independent Distributor with SendOutCards, joined us at the forum and added her health questions that helped make the day a huge success.

Special recognition goes to the following people: New client, Glennette “Cookie” Haynes, President of Stephin Oubre, an event planning and interior design company; Bryn Harrison, Special Events Manager, Fernbank Museum of Natural History; Dr. Tracy Ferguson, Decatur Pediatric Group (thanks for filling in for Dr. Wilson-Phillips during the last hour of the program); Kenneth J. Collins, VP-Operations & Marketing for National Business Development Network, Inc.; Debra Clark, Eco-Developer with Get Your Hands Green; Talia S. Witherspoon, Write Styles by Tai, LLC; Linda S.Giles, Independent Distributor with Ardyss International; Ella Oji, District Leader & Tracy Lynett Oluata, representatives with Primerica; Josetta Shropshire, Positive Promotions, LTD; Bob Moffa, M3 Imagery Photography; Paula Westfield & Family; and Porshia Renee Williams, Skin Care and Color Cosmetics Specialist with Mary Kay Skin Care & Cosmetics.

We’d like to shine the spotlight on our presenting sponsors, Staples, Inc., Choice Nursing Services and Surgical Health Collective.

Once again, we would like to give a hearty “thank you” to our panel of world-class doctors who made the ‘Ask the Doctors’ Health Forum for Women a tremendous success and everyone else who helped to make this event memorable.
