Phenomenal Women’s Conference Brings Out Attorney Karen V. Mills
Kennesaw State University (KSU) Center was the site for the Phenomenal Women’s Conference on April 8, 2011. The conference was sponsored by The Siegel Institute for Leadership, Ethics & Character. We would like to commend and congratulate Linda Johnson, Executive Director of the Siegel Institute and her Project Coordinator, Joann Trodahl, for a job well done.
At People You Need to Know Magazine (PYNTK), we were honored to be the media sponsor for this annual event. Since 2001, The Siegel Institute has been celebrating women at their Phenomenal Women’s Conference. This conference is a place where women of all backgrounds come together to exchange ideas about leadership, motivation and progress in the business world.
The morning started off with registration at 8:00am at the beautiful KSU Center. At that time, our People You Need to Know Magazine display table was already set-up and ready to welcome the conference attendees.
One of the first people to visit our display table was Ursula Fowlkes, a manager with Ardyss International. She was kind enough to pose for some pictures as she held the introductory copy of our Briefcases and Stilettos Newspaper.
Ursula’s business partner and Ardyss, President/Independent Distributor, Linda S. Giles, (pictured left) was also a real pleasure to meet and is definitely a person more people need to know about. Linda is truly committed to helping people make business connections that work! She spent most of the time giving us referrals of people who might be interested in what we do. Thanks Linda! In addition, thanks a million for telling us about the April 27, 2011 Possible Women Leadership Conference at the Marriott Marquis Hotel Downtown Atlanta.
Lauren Stacey, a supervisor with Ardyss International and a student at Kennesaw State University also came by our booth to say hello and pose for a few pictures.
It was great to have Kennesaw State University’s Risk Manager, Ms. Eutopia-Nicole Johnson, MBA (email@example.com) stop by our vendor table to say hello and to pick up a copy of People You Need to Know Magazine.
Lieutenant Colonel Raquel M. Durden, Commander, 221st Military Intelligence Battalion came by our display table to network with us for a few minutes. We found out that she is originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and now resides in the metro Atlanta area. She was excited about the presentation that she was booked to give for the conference attendees entitled: The Importance of Mentorship. LTC Raquel M. Durden told us that after twenty-five years of military service to her country, the best part is the opportunity to lead people. She says that her leadership style includes three things: purpose, motivation and direction. Deep down, she still believes that people really want to do well and be the best that they can be. When asked who inspires her, LTC Durden replied quite enthusiastically, “My husband is my biggest cheerleader.”
We had the distinct pleasure of meeting First Sergeant, Carmen B. Morales, (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the Georgia Army National Guard. She stopped by our table to inquire about our services.
Sergeant Major Robinette Pryor with Georgia Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion came by to pick up her personal copy of our magazine.
Georgia Tech graduate and recent OCS (Officer Candidate School) graduate, Second Lieutenant Kisha Ford (email@example.com) came by our table to network for awhile. She was able to meet our special guest for the day and a fellow Georgia Tech graduate, Attorney Karen V. Mills, P.E., with Mills Law Associates, LLC. Attorney Mills is featured in the current edition of People You Need to Know Magazine. She has been so impressed with her response from advertising in our magazine that she decided to renew her ad for our next yearly addition. Attorney Mills is quickly making a name for herself as Atlanta’s Business Attorney to call for your business legal needs.
Elizabeth Aldridge, Independent Associate with Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc., stopped by to pick up a copy of our magazine and to tell us about Pre-Paid Legal. We enjoyed spending a little time with Patricia Harris, Executive Director & CEO of The Edge Connection. Her organization is dedicated to Empowering and Developing Georgia’s Entrepreneurs.
We were excited to meet Taunya A. Lowe, Ph.D., CEO of The Resurgent Group of Metro Atlanta, LLC. Dr. Lowe, visited our table with her Business Manager, Ms. Jamille Richardson. They were both interested in finding out how People You Need to Know Magazine might help their business grow.
After getting all of their questions answered, they decided to sign up with us as advertisers and become a part of the People You Need to Know Magazine Network.
Our goal at PYNTK Magazine is to help people find women in business with ease in print, online and radio. We’re looking forward to having Dr. Lowe as one of our featured presenters at the upcoming People You Need to Know Magazine “Ask the Doctors” Forum: A Gathering of Women Leaders to Answer Questions about Health and Happiness. Dr. Lowe will be answering questions about mental health and happiness. The forum will be held at the Fernbank Museum Auditorium on May 7, 2011 starting at 10:00am.
At People You Need to Know Magazine, we’re proud to partner with any organization that is dedicated to uplifting, inspiring and encouraging WOMEN in business.
