Meet Dr. Lorie Johnson at the 2011 Business Superstars’ Awards Breakfast
People You Need to Know Magazine, Atlanta’s #1 magazine showcasing women business owners will be honoring Dr. Lorie Johnson at the 2nd Annual Business Superstars’ Awards Breakfast on October 7, 2011. This awards breakfast will be held in the Centennial Ballroom at the Atlanta Marriott Downtown on Spring Street from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
In only 14 years, Dr. Lorie Johnson has gone from a single parent struggling to support her 3-year-old daughter while attending medical school – with no car or money – to a successful board certified obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN) with her own practice, Just For You Women’s Healthcare.
That determination and perseverance helped Dr. Lorie earn degrees at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and MCP/Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and achieve her goal of becoming a doctor, which had been a lifelong dream since she was 4-years-old. For two years in a row, the Consumers’ Research Council listed her as one of the “Top OB/GYNs in America.”
Before coming to Georgia, Dr. Lorie Johnson was employed as a physician in a group practice. Starting her own practice took a huge leap of faith and a lot of hard work, but she continued to move forward. When it came to entrepreneurship, her godmother served as the perfect role model … a businesswoman who always did everything “with excellence and class.”
Dr. Lorie’s charitable spirit has moved her to travel to Africa on more than one occasion to provide medical services through the Worldwide Mission Church. Next year, her office will host “The World’s Biggest Baby Shower” as a way to help families in need.
Anthony “Spark Plug” Thomas, the publisher of People You Need to Know Magazine says, “There is nothing more important than a woman’s health because she controls the well-being of the entire family. We’re proud to honor Dr. Lorie Johnson with the Women’s Healthcare Superstar Award.”
