Dr. Karen Mills ~ President of Advantage Dental in Marietta

Dr. Karen Mills’ motto is: “If it is to be, it’s up to me.”

This powerful woman ought to know. A mother of two, she started her own dental practice, Advantage Dental, built an office building to house her business, and overcame huge obstacles along the way. It’s no coincidence her favorite book is Tapping the Power Within, by Iyanla Vanzant. Her children have been the inspiration behind her successful business.

At her dental practice, they promote the connection between a healthy mouth and a healthy body. Dr. Mills and her team of dedicated employees believe in going the extra mile to make sure their patients feel comfortable and special.

A 1987 graduate of Howard University’s College of Dentistry in Washington D.C., where she was awarded the Percy A. Fitzgerald Outstanding Achievement Award in clinical crown and bridge, Karen also finds time in her busy schedule to mentor youth interested in dentistry. She is a member of several local and national associations including the Academy of General Dentistry, the National Dental Society, the Georgia Dental Association, and the North Georgia Dental Society.

During their spare time, Karen and her family live an active, healthy lifestyle.  Karen’s favorite dessert is any fresh fruit and she enjoys playing sports, including tennis, skiing, skating, and golf. She also loves to travel and her favorite Georgia get-away is the North Georgia Mountains.

A resident of Atlanta for almost 20 years, Karen loves the weather, landscape, and diversity, along with the many business opportunities available here that have made her successful dental practice possible.

This dedicated mom’s hope for 2011 is a simple one: “Continued health and prosperity for my family.”
