DeKalb Chamber Expo Tour Stop

As we continue to move forward on our 2010 People You Need to Know Publicity Tour … on July 23, 2010, People You Need to Know Magazine was honored to be one of the many vendors at the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. The Expo attracted a multitude of women business owners along with some of Atlanta’s leading corporations.

Once again, we would like to thank Staples and Surgical Health Collective, for being our tour sponsors. Surgical Health Collective is committed to educating the community about taking better care of their health.

Some of the many people who stopped by the People You Need to Know Magazine booth to find out more about the women business owners we promote were the venue host, Julie K. Batten, CMP, Sales Manager with Emory Conference Center Hotel, Corlis Hall with Georgia Power, came by to network and introduce herself, and we were happy to meet Sharita Robinson, President & CEO of Robinson Consulting Services.

Pamela Adams, Regional Development Director, Georgia, shared with us the many things she’s doing with Constant Contact, and as a speaker, trainer and author.

Mr. Daniel Fowler, Vice President, American Technologies, visited with us for a little while, as well as Jeffery Mills, CFO with Charge N Go, rapid cell phone charging station. We also had the good fortune to meet Collette Reeves, Account Executive with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The AJC had a very futuristic tabletop display that really stood out from the crowd and made a lasting impression.

It was great meeting LaSonji Rivers with TamPogo.

Atlanta’s nicest Psychotherapist, Shaneka McClarty, LPC, was one of the first visitors to our table and she is really nice. Kathryn Laity with DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau’s, DeKalb Tourism Academy, reminded us that “In and around Atlanta, it’s definitely DeKalb County.”

Sheila Walker with Office Furniture Expo, “Your Corporate Image Makers” let us know that sales are up in their Buford Highway store. And it was an  unexpected pleasure to see Michelle Wiseman, Recycling Specialist with SP Recycling Corp. Her husband, Al Wiseman is a friend from way back in the day.

One young lady I didn’t get to spend much time with was Dr. Nancy J. Williams, Holistic Practitioner and Spiritual Life Coach with First Fruit Natural Healing Home, but she still graced us with her calm and healing presence. Cindy Stuart, Account Executive with Courtyard by Marriott came by our table, though she had already received a copy of our magazine at Bonnie Ross-Parker’s home, during The Joy of Connecting event, earlier in the week. Bonnie is one of the newest members of the People You Need to Know Network of first-class business professionals.

It was nice to meet Gisella L. Cattaneo, Account Executive with Mundo Hispanico. It’s always great to make new connections with staff members from the Mundo Hispanico dynamic team because I get a chance to practice my Español. Alison Walker-Grant, Realtor, with Metro Brokers and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate made her presence known with her engaging personality and warm smile.

Brock Peyer, Branch Manager/Vice President of Fidelity Bank, Decatur Branch, stopped by, as well as Jean Vallee, with Permit Management Group. Her company helps contractors get the permits they need without the headaches. All of these people and more stopped by our vendor table to network and learn more about People You Need to Know Magazine, and the women business owners and professionals we promote in metro Atlanta.

Check back for an update about our next event.
