We Cannot Drink Oily Water

By now, most people have heard about the Deepwater explosion
Including the lives which were lost and the impact it’s made
How much longer can the earth withstand our constant abuse
Before it turns us all on our heads with a surprise implosion

Ladies and gentlemen, this is more than a spill – yes, a whole lot more
Lives were lost, jobs, friends, hope, because of Deepwater Horizon
Calling it an “oil spill” is a play on words for this drilling disaster
A “spill” is milk, juice, water, crayons, or our cereal on the floor

We have all been forewarned about a shortage of clean water
Five million people die each year because of this dilemma
If we all worked together, this situation is preventable
I know some are doing what they can, but we’ve got to work harder

Currently, there’s still not remedy to the predicament we’re in
Too many “Area Closed” signs have been posted in the past
We’ve got to solve this “spill” problem before it’s too late
We’ve got to work to save our children because on us they depend

The oil spill in Mexico really affected the Ecosystem around that area. It would take years to clean up that mess.
