Bonnie Ross-Parker to Speak at Kick-off of Helping Women Succeed in America Tour

Bonnie Ross-Parker will be a guest speaker at the kick-off of the Helping WOMEN Succeed in America Tour held at the Fernbank Auditorium in Atlanta, Georgia on January 29th. Topic: How to Make Every Connection Count!

Don’t be fooled by this silver-haired grandmother who always wears cowboy boots. Bonnie Ross-Parker is a sought after speaker, author, successful businesswoman and self-motivated entrepreneur.

A graduate of George Washington University, she began her professional career as a middle school math teacher. At age 39, after an unexpected health setback abruptly ended her teaching career, she was forced to rethink her future. She spotted a classified ad looking for interested individuals to manage and participate in the growth of a major franchise. Bonnie never looked back.

Successful in expanding this international franchise to 28 stores, she recognized the male dominated corporate office offered little support to its female franchisees.  This became her motivating force.

In 1995, after relocating to Atlanta with her husband Phil,  Bonnie’s passion to nurture and support women has led to many successes over the last fifteen years.  In August of 2002, Bonnie created The Joy of Connecting® (JOC), an innovative program which supports women entrepreneurs, business owners and professional women nationwide.  Participants find themselves in safe, comfortable and informal settings where they can freely share who they are, what they offer and support one another personally and professionally. Eight years later, after having over 2600 women in her home, JOC continues its growth.

Bonnie has received several awards, among them, an award from the Athena International Award Program, which recognizes initiatives in women’s leadership and women-owned businesses. She has also received the Toastmaster’s International Communication and Leadership Award, and was recognized as a Georgia Woman of Influence by The Women’s Leadership Exchange of New York.  Most recently, Bonnie received the America’s Connection Diva Superstar Award from People You Need To Know Magazine.

While she has overcome many challenges, Bonnie Ross-Parker has never lost her focus and enthusiasm for life. She believes that the possibilities are endless for those who value and nurture relationships.  This silver-haired grandmother, who always wears cowboy boots, continuously reminds us that “Every connection counts” and that life is all about the people you meet and the joy that comes from caring about and connecting with each other.
